Worthy the Lamb

The result of countless hours of preparation and rehearsal all came together for a very special experience on 19 August at Heritage College. Very rarely do so many members of our community focus their efforts with such intensity to unify such a vast array of parts and contributions into a moment of such seamlessly polished, coordinated and intentional unity of expression of the power of the gospel message, as was witnessed at the recent Lamb of God presentation. Over 100 performers, countless thousands of hours of rehearsals, interstate support and exceptional vision and leadership were brought together in a moving witness of the power of the gospel.

A powerful and sure footed orchestral soundscape gave way to the expressive words and harmonious voices of the choir and soloists, to tell the sacred story of the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.

And mustn’t we have all wanted it to be…? 500 seats were sold out weeks in advance, a sign that our community was hungry for an experience to unite and witness together a selfless offering - a sacrifice even - of time and effort in the name of giving the best of praise to our Father and His son. We bristled with excitement, well up with tears, were moved in our spirits, and filled with awe, as we experienced this rare offering of excellence and beauty that nourished and replenished our souls.

At the end, no-one wanted to leave, but everyone left feeling fuller, stronger, and more joyful. Wow.
