HYP Sundays October 2023: Slices, Skills and Signs of the Times:

Great to welcome new friends (Katelyn & Tom) 😄😄 and some familiar friends (Abi and Yue) 😃😃 as well as most of our Hurstville crew, though we missed our HSC comrades Alex, David, Jesse and Silas: good luck guys!! 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓🧐📚

After an awesome family worship service at Hurstville, 🎶🎹 and our traditional pizza lunch 🍕🍕🍕 (which was a bit late, but we got free garlic bread!! 🥖) …

In our discussion, we extended our understanding of Gods Master Plan further. After last month learning about Gods promised Kingdom 👑 we learnt that it will be better than anything our eyes have seen 👀 or ears 👂have heard (1Cor 2.9), and that his kingdom 👑 will be on earth 🌍, something the Bible says, quite clearly. Jesus will return (Acts 1.11 ☁️) and he asked us to pray 🙏 for it (Matt 6.10). And we learnt about the significance of Jerusalem 🌄 ( Micah 4.1-2), which is in this weekend’s headlines about the Middle East. We marvelled about how Jerusalem is a part in Gods promises that have stood for 1000s of years, and learnt how war ☢️🤺🥷 and famine☀️💧and pestilence 🦠🦠 (Luke 21, Matt24-6, and Mark 13) are to be expected before Jesus returns and God fulfils his promises (Gen 12.1-3, Gen 13.14-17, Gen 17.1-8 and 2Sam7.18 🙌) of an everlasting kingdom 👑 filled with his characteristics of mercy💚, grace 💜 patience 💛love ❤️ truth 🩵 and justice 💙(Num14.21, Ex 34.6) as the waters cover the sea (Hab2.14 🌊 )

Games followed - Donkey ping pong, Chameleon, Spot it and more, abd we talked a bit about next months prep for the Sunday School Gala on Dec 3.

Next HYP Sunday is Nov 5️⃣ : Fundraising prep (craft, cooking) and set construction for the Sunday Scool production. Calling all hands!! 🙌. Stay tuned … !!
